The Nirvana Garden Trail
Discover the tropical plants, flowering shrubs and trees that give the garden at Villa Nirvana its character.
Villa Nirvana is surrounded by a mature tropical garden in Noord, Aruba. Palms create movement and shade, bougainvillea brings vivid colour, and drought-tolerant plants such as Aloe Vera reflect the island’s dry, sunny climate. Together they turn the grounds into a private outdoor world for swimming, relaxing and spending time together.

Banana plants
Broad leaves create a lush contrast with the garden’s palms and drought-tolerant planting.

Fan palms
Compact fan-shaped crowns bring shade, texture and a secluded feeling to a quiet seating corner.
A garden shaped by Aruba
Aruba lies outside the main Caribbean hurricane belt and has a warm, dry climate with abundant sunshine and cooling trade winds. Plants in the garden must cope with strong light, limited rainfall and salty coastal air. Species that store water, develop deep roots or reduce moisture loss are especially at home here.
The garden combines these resilient plants with established palms and flowering species. Their different heights, textures and colours create sheltered corners while offering food and habitat for butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and other local visitors.
Outdoor living among the plants
The garden is not simply scenery. It connects the private pool, jacuzzi, sandy lounge, palapa and outdoor bar. In the morning it is a quiet place for coffee; during the day the planting provides shade and privacy; in the evening garden lighting turns it into a relaxed setting for dinner and conversation.
